A popular series in the 2000s, iCarly gained a revival in 2021 and may also receive a feature film, according to the actress who plays the protagonist
The actress Miranda Cosgrovecommented on the possibility of ‘iCarly’, a comedy series that became popular during the 2000s, getting a feature film. The revelation came during an interview given to Variety (via Collider), where she mentioned that there is a great chance that the production will actually reach the big screen.
“I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen,” Cosgrove said. “I’m excited and would love to be able to finish the story.”
It is worth remembering that iCarly was created by Dan Schneider for Nickelodeon’s programming. The sitcom first aired in 2007, ending after 7 seasons in 2012. The plot follows Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove), Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) and Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress), hosting an online program.
The title gained a revival in 2021 under the same title, this time, following the characters in adulthood, revealing that Spencer (Jerry Trainor) became a millionaire, Freddie (Nathan Kress) got married, but after getting divorced he went back to live with his mother Mary (Marissa Benson), while Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) shares a new apartment with Harper (Laci Mosley), her roommate.
The series was canceled and came to an end after three seasons, all included in the Paramount+ streaming platform catalog.
