Meet the Franchise
In Illumination Entertainment’s “Despicable Me” franchise, we are introduced to the protagonist Gru, a super villain whose main goal is to steal the Moon. With the help of his Minions, the little yellow creatures responsible for bringing humor to the story, he builds and steals inventions that will help him achieve his goal. But what the protagonist didn’t expect was the appearance of three orphan sisters who would later change his life forever.
Margo, Edith and Agnes soon become his daughters, as Gru becomes emotionally attached to the three and ends up adopting them, giving up his life as a villain to dedicate himself to them. During the second film, we see a lot of the family relationship between him and the girls, as well as the appearance of his future wife, Lucy, a secret agent of the “Anti-Villain League”. With both working for the side of “good”, Lucy and Gru get married and, after the third film, build the hook for the sequel.

The plot of “Despicable Me 4” focuses on Gru Jr., the youngest son of Gru and Lucy. BTS and BLACKPINK on the soundtrack
For K-pop fans, the film may attract attention, as it features two big names in the Korean pop industry: BTS and BLACKPINK. In addition, Poppy, a new character, is clearly a fan of BTS (known as ARMY), as indicated by the presence of the boy group’s logo on some objects she uses during the film.
