In celebration of Red Velvet’s 10th anniversary, idols recalled the years of their career with details from the pre- and post-debut period
On Monday, 01, Red Velvet fans were able to discover new stories about the group through a video published on the YouTube channel ‘Jang Hanhyung Shin’, Shin Dong Yupwhere the members were able to reflect on the group’s decade-long career.
Among the subjects, Yerione of the group’s members, gave details about the strict rules for SM Entertainment trainees, even stating that when she debuted, her old cell phone was changed.
When I was a trainee, there was a curfew,” the idol began, recalling. “The strangest thing was that after debut, we lost the cell phones we had when we were trainees. I wondered why that was necessary,” she continued.
Even so, Yeri highlighted that these restrictions are in the past, and the younger generation of SM trainees does not go through the same situation: “We were the last to experience this”, he concluded.

It is worth remembering that, on August 1st, Red Velvet completes exactly 10 years of debut. In the video with Shin Dong Yup, Joy reflected on the group’s milestone, saying, “The fact that it’s our 10th anniversary doesn’t feel real.” The group debuted with the digital single “Happiness”; check out the MV!
In the premiere, Irene, Seulgi, Wendy It is Joy were the members of the group. Yeri was added to the group the following year, during the release of the first mini-album “Ice Cream Cake”.
In celebration of the date, the album “Cosmic” was also released on June 24th. The album has 6 tracks in total and was accompanied by an MV for the eponymous title track.
