Discover which are the only female K-pop groups that appear in the Guinness World Records, the book of records
Recognized as the leading authority on record-breaking achievements, Guinness World Records, the book of records, began as an idea of Sir Hugh Beavera manager at the Guinness Brewery, in 1950, when he attended a shooting party and began discussing with the hosts about the fastest game bird in Europe, without reaching a conclusion.
Four years later, when remembering the discussion, Sir Hugh decided to run a promotion at the brewery to put an end to arguments in pubs, inviting ross It is Norris McWhirterresearchers from Fleet Street, a famous street in London, with the aim of creating a book that would bring together facts and data.
Entitled “Guinness Superlative”, the work took 13 and a half weeks to complete, being officially published in 1955, selling 187 thousand books in just one year. Today, Guinness World Records has become a global brand, with countless representatives spread across the world, and containing more than 80 million copies sold, according to the Superinteressante portal.
In the book, it is possible to find the most varied records, with different categories, which can range from the tallest people in the world, to the most viewed video on YouTube. It is even possible to come across different K-pop artists, however, only three girl groups are present.
It is worth remembering that, for a record to be validated, if it is an unprecedented situation, the person needs to send a project to Guinness with a detailed explanation of the idea to be approved by the company and, consequently, published.
On the other hand, if it is a record that has already been set previously, in order to break it, it is necessary that it meets the same conditions as the old one, and that proof of the new record be presented, including photos and videos, and the presence of two witnesses, who must be respected people in the community, or authorities.
