In honor of Pride Month, The Frankie Shop concept store is selling a solidarity t-shirt to benefit AIDS charity Aides.
“We are the future”, “we are the future”, French. This is the powerful and prophetic slogan that The Frankie Shop, an intimate and modern concept store, displays on its new minimalist cover. A slogan that is not anecdotal, as it was developed in collaboration with the association “Aides” for the benefit of the fight against HIV. It’s doubly symbolic that the brand is doing this in the middle of Pride Month, which celebrates LGBTQ+ people. A way to emphasize the principles of tolerance and inclusiveness. But also a celebration of the work that the auxiliary association has been doing for forty years.
Significant progress
Created in 1984, Aides is the first association to fight AIDS and hepatitis in France and Europe. Today, 39 million people in the world are living with HIV and continue to face discrimination throughout their lives. This is how the association has been working with patients for four decades, aiming to reduce new infections, support them with appropriate care and finally help them protect their rights. Its activists have managed to make significant progress thanks to their constant mobilization. Whether it is the lifting of the ban on condom advertising in 1987, the authorization and reimbursement of PrEP in France since 2016, or the implementation of rapid community testing for confirmed HIV in 2020.
Frankie Shop wanted to join this fight by donating the profits from the sale of the t-shirt and matching badge to Aides and Housing Works, an American association that works to ensure that people with HIV have access to quality housing, care and appropriate treatment. The T-shirt is a stylish and supportive piece, effective and useful, supporting a collective that continues to mobilize to advance the cause. And who more than ever need financial help to continue their precious and essential struggle.
Priced at €68, the T-shirt is available in-store and at Thefrankieshop.com
