SEVENTEEN appointed first UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Youth

The members of the SEVENTEEN group went to Paris, France, to personally receive the important title awarded by UNESCO

This Wednesday, the 26th, the SEVENTEEN group was appointed the first Goodwill Ambassador for Youth of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, better known as UNESCO.

The ceremony, which took place at the organization’s headquarters in Paris, France, was broadcast live in full via the official UNESCO YouTube channel, where S. It is worth remembering that the announcement was made on June 10th through an Instagram post with all the details about the official ceremony.

SEVENTEEN and UNESCO share the same commitment to empowering young people to drive change and face the challenges of our century,” Audrey Azoulay told the press at the time. “They also inspire and support young people around the world with their music and positive energy. After several successful joint actions, I wanted our partnership to take on even greater strategic importance,” she concluded.

Furthermore, the title was awarded following SEVENTEEN’s participation in the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum, held in November 2023 in Paris, where the group performed for representatives of the 194 UNESCO Member States and hundreds of fans, as well as a speech in which they highlighted the importance of solidarity, especially among young people.

Also, on May 26th of this year, SEVENTEEN celebrated their 9th anniversary since their debut, and as part of the celebration, the group made a donation to the “Global Fund for Environment and Education”, which will be used in the #GoingTogether campaign, which focuses on promoting the importance of education for children and adolescents around the world, in addition to directly collaborating with the “UNESCO Forum on the Future of Education”.
