It is worth remembering that the group was formed through reality shows promoted by Fantagio, the agency that managed the formation’s career, and had eight members: Elly, Yoojung, Doyeon, Know, Moon, Rina, Lucy It is Yejin (they all appear in the disband MV).
Weki Meki debuted on August 8, 2017 with the EP “WEME”, which received an MV for the title track “I don’t like your girlfriend”. According to Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Music Chart), the album has sold more than 47,000 physical copies since its release, becoming the best-selling album by a female group that debuted in 2017.
Although the disbandment was carried out this Wednesday, the group has been inactive since 2021, the year of the release of the mini-album “I AM ME”. Check out some fan reactions:
Guys, I’m so sad that I can’t even express my sadness
They were the group that I identified with the most in kpop, while the other girls focused on BP and other groups, my comfort was with them.
