Ariana Grande comments on inappropriate jokes in Nickelodeon series

In a recent interview, Ariana Grande commented on the adult jokes in Nickelodeon series exposed in the documentary ‘Quiet on Set’

During a recent interview with the Podcrushed podcast (via Variety), the actress and singer Ariana Grande spoke out for the first time about the double meaning jokes present in the series “Brilhante Victória” (2010-2013) and “Sam & Cat” (2013-2014), on Nickelodeon, where the character Cat Valentine played.

Jokes with adult content were highlighted in the documentary “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Children’s TV”, available on Max, where former Nickelodeon actors reveal the dark behind the scenes denouncing abuse on the set, as well as inappropriate content for children’s series.

“I think, at the time, we thought that what differentiated us from other series was this bolder, more adult humor. We felt it was cool because of that. The sexual innuendos in some jokes… I don’t know, at the time It happened really quickly, and looking back on it today I think, ‘Oh, really, we did that sh*t,'” Ariana said.

On the podcast, Big also revealed that she was “devastated” to hear the stories of the former child actors presented in the documentary, calling them “survivors”, in addition to asking for a “safe environment” for young actors.

“We need to try harder to keep the environment safe if children are going to be acting, and I think we need to have therapists on set. I think the parents of these children should have a free pass to be wherever they want to be, and I think the children’s contract It needs to include mandatory therapy – two, three times a week, if necessary”, he concluded.
