2. Easter eggs at the opening
Even though it doesn’t even last 1 minute, the opening of the animation hides some Easter eggs that can help in understanding future episodes. Bill Cipher, the main antagonist of the story, appears right away in the middle of a circle with symbols that represent all the main characters, namely: a pine tree, a shooting star, a hat, a question mark, a bag of ice, a telepathy star, a hand with 6 fingers, a llama, a broken heart and glasses; watch and remember!
3. References to Twin Peaks
Gravity Falls has several references to the 90s series “Twin Peaks”. In addition to some scenarios, which have visible similarities with the animation, the English translation for “the Pines Twins” is “Twin Pines”, which generates the same meaning in speech when compared to the name of the series. More than that, the creator of Twin Peaks, the filmmaker David Lynchwas invited to voice Bill Cipher, but ended up turning down the proposal.

4. Alex Hirsch appears in every episode
In addition to being inspired by real events in his life, the Alex Hirsch appears in all episodes of the animation. When he does not appear as a secondary character, he can be seen in objects scattered around the scene, such as posters or photographs. At the end of the opening, for example, the caricature of his goatee appears covered by other polaroid photos.

5. Possible Return?
Even though the series has already ended its cycle, there are rumors of an animation revival. According to Disney’s executive vice president of television animation, Meredith Roberts, the studio is negotiating a possible revival for Gravity Falls. At the moment, Alex Hirsch is about to publish a book with Disney about the project, so, in her words: “never say never.”
