The Netherlands is also stimulating local business with this financial contribution, as drones can be produced on the territory of Ukraine.
The Netherlands will allocate 60 million euros to “develop offensive drone capabilities for Ukraine.” The press service of the Dutch Ministry of Defense reported this on Tuesday, June 11.
It was noted that 20 million euros will go to the purchase of FPV drones through the “coalition of drones” created at the beginning of the year within the framework of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine.
Another 17.5 million euros was allocated for the purchase of maritime drones.
“Ukraine can produce this type of drone in its country, so the Netherlands is also stimulating local business with this financial contribution,” said the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
The remaining funds will be used for bilateral supplies of drones of various types. The department said “Dutch industry will also benefit from this.”
Let’s recall that the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 in Berlin, met with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. The leaders discussed the Global Peace Summit and also exchanged views on Ukraine’s progress towards joining the EU.
We remind you that the Netherlands, together with Denmark, will produce the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle for Ukraine, as well as, together with Germany, the Patriot.
It has also been reported that the Netherlands will supply Ukraine with a new batch of YPR infantry fighting vehicles.
