Dahyun will be the protagonist in the South Korean remake of the Taiwanese film ‘You are the Apple of My Eye’. Check out the first images!
In May this year, JYP Entertainment confirmed that Dahyun, a member of TWICE, will make her long-awaited acting debut in the film “Sprint”. Later in the same month, it was reported that the idol was cast in a new feature film, this time, the Korean remake of the Taiwanese film “You are the Apple of My Eye”.
This Monday, the 10th, the producers responsible for production, STUDIO TAKE and Jayuro Pictures, shared the first images of the idol alongside her co-star Jung Jinyoung, in addition to announcing that recordings began at the beginning of this month. Check out the photos!
The original version of “You Are the Apple of My Eye” features the story of Ko Ching Teng (Chen Tung Ko), a high school troublemaker and Shen Chia Yi (Michelle Chen), a model student, following the characters from school to their adult lives, 15 years later.
In the South Korean version, the character Ko Ching Teng will be Jin Woo, played by Jung Jinyoung who, despite being extremely immature as a teenager, ends up maturing after experiencing his first disappointment in love. Meanwhile, Shen Chia Yi will be given the name Seon Ah, a character from Dahyunwho, despite being very shy, will prove to be a very strong girl.
“It is an honor to be able to greet viewers on the big screen with a great project. I am very excited and will work hard to produce a great project with the best collaboration of my senior actors,” Dahyun said in a statement (via Soompi).
On the other hand, Jinyoung stated that “I am happy to have been cast in a project that I care about. I will do my best to convey the emotions of the original film.” “You Are the Apple of My Eye” does not yet have a release date.
