This Friday, the 7th, Fantagio, the company that manages Weki Meki’s activities, announced the girl group’s disbandment after seven years of career. The group has been inactive since 2021, with the release of the mini-album “I AM ME”. However, the girl group’s final definitive single will be released on June 12th, and will be called “CoinciDestiny”.

The members of Weki Meki would begin their activities as idols through reality shows promoted by Fantagio itself. Elly, Yoojung, Doyeon, Sei, Lua, Rina, Lucy It is Yejin were chosen from among the participants, and debuted in August 2017, holding a showcase in celebration. The agency also released a poster with the numbers 888, indicating that its debut would take place on the 8th of the 8th month at 8pm.
Weki Meki also debuted a new concept at Fantagio, titled Teen Crush. The girl group’s first EP was titled “WEME” and, according to Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Music Chart), it has sold more than 47,000 physical copies since its release, becoming the best-selling album by a girl group that debuted in 2017.
