To restore power plants, specific equipment is required, the production of which takes a lot of time, the handling is noted.
Since the beginning of the Russian general war, all DTEK thermal power plants have suffered major attacks and gone through complete shutdowns. The General Director of DTEK Energy Ildar Saleev spoke about this in Ukrainskaya Pravda.

“Most of the stations have previously received significant damage, and they have repeatedly stalled due to massive shelling,” he said.
According to Saleev, internal resources are not enough to restore damaged and destroyed power plants. Our own resources are directed first at what can be quickly returned. However, we often talk about specific equipment that needs to be purchased and made. It takes time. The production of large equipment, such as transformers, takes 8-12 months, and sometimes a year and a half.
“No one keeps it in warehouses, it is all made individually, for specific conditions and specific stations… Both the Ministry of Energy and we are looking for all available ways and resources to buy such equipment and bring it to the power plants,” he assured.
We remind you that since February 2022, DTEK power engineers have raised stations from scratch 37 times and continued their operation after shelling. And after six waves of massive attacks in March-June of this year, more than 90% of the company’s thermal generation was damaged or destroyed.
Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said that 42 power units of thermal power plants were destroyed in Ukraine – this is 73% of thermal generation capacity.
