Usyk was offered a role in Hollywood

Absolute world heavyweight boxing champion Alexander Usik has received a role in the American biographical drama “Smashing Machine”. IMDB announced the news on Wednesday.

The film will focus on the life of former UFC fighter Mark Kerr, who will be played by popular actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Usik will play in the film Ukrainian MMA fighter Igor Volchanchyn, who fought Carr twice during his career.

It is known that in the first fight the Ukrainian won by knockout, but the fight was declared invalid, and in the second fight Volchanchyn won by decision. These matches took place in 1999 and 2000.

The film will also star Emily Blunt, Lindsay Gavin, and Ryan Bader. The film was written and directed by American Ben Safdie.

The premiere is scheduled for 2025.

We remind you that Usik defeated Tyson Fury by split decision in his last fight. The Ukrainian became the first absolute champion in the heavyweight division since 1999.
