Four out of five French people say they suffer from back pain, according to an Ifop survey conducted in 2019. Many people tend to freeze, waiting for the pain to go away, but this is actually a serious mistake. “It’s absolutely necessary to prevent back pain by staying active and using it every day,” warns Victoria Chaikovsky, a sports doctor in Paris. Every day, and even in case of pain, the doctor recommends walking or cycling for at least 30 minutes a day, 10 minutes in case of lack of time. “Be careful with telecommuting, which can cause back pain if set up poorly,” he adds. You absolutely have to get up every hour to take a few steps.”
