What are you talking about? The trial of the dog ?
Daruch’s (Francois Damiens) dog Cosmos is on trial for biting a woman. Since Swiss law treats a dog as a thing, it can sleep. Avril, the lawyer I play, manages to prove that Cosmos is a living being, and she ends up defending the animal.
How is this movie like me? ?
It brings together all my beliefs: the status of women, animals and environmental issues. It is a comedy, sometimes a bit rough, in which the tone is constantly changing. And that’s my dream movie.
A few words about the Larriet brothers’ film ?
Jim’s novel is a very human melodrama about fatherhood carried by Kareem Leclou. We cry a lot, that’s where we find Larrieu’s touch, which is emotion, fantasy and true uniqueness. The two brothers have a unique way of approaching problems. They know how to be serious and light, a great energy of life emanates from their universe.

A memorable memory in Cannes ?
In 2017, when I went on stage with Leonor Serra, who received the “Golden Camera” award for her film. Young woman. Sandrine Kiberlain, Juliette Binoche, Joaquin Phoenix were there… It was great.
An essential accessory in Cannes ?
Landfiller. Easy to slip into your handbag, they last all evening.
My best meeting in Cannes ?
One with director Thomas Winterberg. He really encouraged me to make my own film. I met him at a dinner where I was put at a table of Danes, Viggo Mortensen, Mads Mikkelsen… They were all adorable and great.

I still have the holy fire ?
Yes indeed. I think I even tire people a little.
Is it bad luck talking about myself in a promo? ?
No. Journalists often surprise me with interesting questions that I would do well to ask myself.
The subject that throws me off my hinges ?
I can’t stand being asked to react hastily to such serious and complex issues as sexual harassment in cinema or the separation of a man and an artist.

The question I don’t answer in the interview ?
Nobody.
What do I think about when I look in the mirror in the morning? ?
I prefer not to answer this question.
Is there a misunderstanding about me? ?
I can give the image of a spontaneous person, a little crazy, while at work I am very responsible and reliable. We probably think that seriousness should be boring, but it is not.

What I like people to say about me ?
That you can count on me.
What Switzerland I have in me ?
Half of my nationality, as well as my artistic freedom. It was the Swiss who inspired me to create my plays and who are the co-producers of my film today.
Last time I was proud of myself ?
I have many reasons to be proud of myself this year, but the best reason remains the selection of my film at the Cannes Film Festival.
