This was done by Australian representatives. But this musical group did not enter the final of Eurovision 2024.

For the first time in Eurovision 2024, a song is performed in a native language. It was produced by the Australian duo Electric Fields. The video was published on the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.

A Mikali (One Blood) is sung in the language of the indigenous people of the mainland Aṉangu: Yankunityatjara.

The decision comes from the background of the band’s vocalist, Zaakaraya Fielding, who is part of a segregated community in South Australia. About 4,000 people speak the Yankunityatjara language there.

The duo also used a folk wind instrument called the didgerida, which is considered one of the oldest in the world. The instrument resembles a small trembita and is made from a piece of eucalyptus.

We remind you that alyona alyona and Jerry Heil performed in the semi-finals of Eurovision.
