Discover which are the 5 films belonging to the Star Wars universe that achieved the highest box office numbers in the franchise
This Saturday, the 4th, Star Wars Day is celebrated, a date on which fans of the franchise created by LucasFilm in the late 1970s can take advantage of special activations, events open to the public and various actions organized especially to praise the universe that, more than a science fiction plot, it became a cultural milestone and one of the first Blockbusters in the history of cinema.
After the release of ‘Tubarão’ (1975), by Steven Spielbergwere the plots ofGeorge Lucas which became the next to achieve great popularity and enormous financial profit, a feat achieved both by the innovation that the saga brings, with unusual visual effects for the time, and the plot, which captivated and continues to captivate countless fans around the world.
This is because the franchise focuses on a war between the Empire; which establishes its totalitarian regime with the villain Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine and has support from the Siths and the famous soldiers in white armor, called Stormtroopers; and the Republic, which wants a democratic government and can count on the Rebel Alliance and the Jedi Knights as supporters.
To tell this story, directed by George Lucasthe first two trilogies were released, set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, which address the political clash through the journeys of Luke Skywalker, a young farmer who discovers he is a Jedi, and Anakin Skywalker, a promising Jedi who assumes the identity of the feared Darth Vader after giving in to the dark side of the force.
Furthermore, there is a third, and most recent, trilogy, which hit the big screen in 2015, when the story gained new characters such as the heroine Rey, the former stormtrooper Finn and the cute droid BB-8, as well as a new filmmaker: JJ Abrams.
