Ayesha and Dean Sherzai, neuroscientists called thebraindocs on Instagram, share five habits to improve your health by moving as regularly as possible.
Do you think that radical changes in habits and long and complicated processes will help you improve your health and increase your longevity? Think again. You can contribute, for example, by simply washing your dishes. This is what two American neuroscientists assure in a post published on their Instagram account on April 23. At thebraindocs, Ayesha and Dean Sherzai present five activities to integrate into your daily life for a longer life. Simple habits to adopt regularly.
Go up the stairs
The first action proposed by scientists. take the stairs rather than the elevator. In addition to being an exercise that works on our cardiovascular system, this habit will “strengthen your legs”.

Getting up
Neuroscientists recommend that we make our calls or send our emails while standing and taking advantage of the opportunity to stretch our legs. The stakes are high. French adults spend an average of twelve hours a day sitting on weekdays and nine hours on non-weekdays, according to the French National Observatory of Physical Activity and Sedentary Life (Onaps). However, a sedentary lifestyle kills. it increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and more. When working while sitting, it is recommended to get up once an hour and take a 5-minute walk.
Make circles with your hands
Another simple movement that can be done anywhere, anytime. “Extend your arms to each side and make a circle, slowly increasing their size.”
To walk
In front of our favorite show, neuroscientists recommend “walking in place”. Purposeful? Fight against a sedentary lifestyle, always.
Friction and contraction
You can use different, rather static, everyday activities to activate your muscles and your entire body. In practice? Both neuroscientists recommend doing squats while washing dishes, for example.
