Miles Teller had a supporting role for Tom Cruise in “Top Gun: Maverick,” but he was the star of the show from the never -before -seen blockbuster.
Actors often use doubles in scenes where their characters play a musical instrument because not all actors have musical training. But Teller insisted he play and sing the song on stage.
Teller said he told producers: “I used to play the piano when I was little. I kind of swim. I don’t need a double, I’ll play it live and sing it”. According to CinemaBlend.
But when he started practicing singing on stage, he admitted he wondered if he had already bitten more than he could chew because it was a “pretty heavy song” and Luis was “pretty high singing”.
However, it was probably easier than the flight training he went through for the rooster role.
Teller told Seth Myers earlier this week He had hives while filming. He said doctors found “refractory, pesticides and jet fuel” in his blood.
Later, when Teller informed Cruz that he had jet fuel literally flowing in his veins, the veteran actor didn’t seem surprised.
“Yeah, I was born with this, little one,” Cruz told Teller, who said, “It was a very tribal moment for him.”
You can hear the song on TV – and it plays – “Great Balls of Fire” in the video below.
