Christine d’Ornano, Sisley Group Director. “Everyone in the family is a guinea pig.”

Sisley Group Director Christine d’Ornano is the originator of the new Neuraé brand.
Sisley Group

With his brother, Philippe d’Ornano, he is at the inception of Neuraé, a new brand based on advances in neuroscience. A project that is especially close to his heart.

Why not integrate Neura into Sisley?
We are at the dawn of a new cosmetology revolution: neuroscience. When my parents created Sisley, in 1976, it was also a period of great scientific progress, which allowed the development of phytocosmetology, then genetics and epigenetics, the foundations of Sisley. We have been working on Neuraé for eleven years and we wanted to create an independent brand for greater clarity. It is aimed at the new generation. This is another way to take care of your skin.

What do your mother, Isabelle d’Ornano, and your daughters, Alma, Isabelle, and Ines, say?
Everyone in the family is a guinea pig. It’s a moment of added well-being for my mom, and my older two have totally embraced it. I vary according to my mood and my needs. To test it out, I used Neuraé alone for a month and I really saw results in the brightness, tone and evenness of my skin. What really impressed me in the tests was the reduction in redness. I now regularly use the Serum and Serenity Cream in the evenings.

What emotions dominate you?
Positive side: curiosity and enthusiasm. The downside is impatience.

What relaxes and energizes you?
I truly believe in the positive impact of sports on the mind. I swim at least three times a week. I never got around to doing yoga, but during Covid I took a twenty minute online class. I learned it by heart and now I do it at home when I’m not going to the pool. And that does me very well. I sleep a lot, eight hours a night, and I always read before I turn off the light, a real decompression chamber. I go for a walk in nature on weekends. I love antiques and art brings me great joy, like the recent Van Gogh and Peter Doig exhibitions at the Musée d’Orsay. I am also very sensitive to colors. They make me happy. At the moment I really like red and pink.

Have you had trouble loving yourself?
Self-acceptance is one of the perks of age. I feel better today than I did in my 20s, but that’s normal, I know myself better, I know what suits me.

What do you like most about yourself?
My skin. I had eczema when I was little, but I learned to treat it and now everything is fine.

And the least.
My very fine hair. I envy my daughters’ beautiful babies…

The Neuraé brand will donate 1% of its sales to mental health. A problem that worries you.
My family has dealt with this before, it’s a scourge that leaves us completely helpless. Covid and social media have highlighted everything. I’ve read a lot of books about adolescence and I pay a lot of attention to my daughters, but there are many cases around them, even in a very privileged environment.
