Two groups of pilots in Denmark and the United States are getting F-16 operational skills themselves, “honing their skills,” Ilya Yevlash said.
Ukrainian pilots are completing training on F-16 fighters in Denmark and the USA. The appearance of the aircraft in Ukraine will come as a surprise to the enemy. The Spokesman of the Ukrainian Air Force Ilya Yevlash said this, Radio Liberty reported on Thursday, April 4.
According to him, two groups of pilots in Denmark and the United States are getting F-16 skills themselves, “honing their skills.”
“Now this is one of the last stages,” he said.
At the same time, Yevlash refused to name the date of appearance of the aircraft in Ukraine.
“It is not worth disclosing, so that it will be a certain surprise for the enemy. Of course, as soon as we talk about it, we will inform all Ukrainians, because everyone is really counting on it,” the spokesman added .
Ilya Yevlash recalled that the F-16s could shoot down Russian missiles terrorizing Ukrainian cities and combat Russian aviation, which actively uses guided bombs.
It was previously reported that Ukraine could receive the first F-16 fighter in the summer of 2024. The Ministry of Defense also said that all necessary decisions on the acquisition of F-16 aircraft have been made and the process is “moving according to plan.”
