According to one of the composers of “I’m Just Ken”, the song came close to not being on the “Barbie” soundtrack. Know more!
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Mark Ronsoncomposer, DJ, guitarist and music producer, responsible for one of the two nominations for “Best Original Song” for “Barbie” at the 2024 Oscars, stated that “I’m Just Ken”, a song that went viral among fans, almost was cut from the film.
According to the composer, Greta Gerwigdirector of the film about the most famous doll in the world, had to fight to keep the track on the soundtrack.
On the first test viewing, the music wasn’t working. I panicked, the humor wasn’t translating to the film. Greta had to fight. The studio asked if she really needed the song and she said ‘with every inch of my body’ and then they released it,” Ronson revealed.
