“The Boy and the Crane” is the big winner in the ‘Best Animated Film’ category at the 2024 Oscars

The 96th edition of the Oscars took place yesterday, the 10th, and awarded the best films of 2023, including “The Boy and the Crane” as ‘Best Animated Film’

Last night, the 10th, the 96th edition of the Oscar ceremony took place, where the biggest films of 2023 were awarded. Among the winners, “The Boy and the Crane” received an award in the ‘Best Animated Film’ category.

The victory was an incredible surprise, given that the film competed with iconic films such as “Elements”, “My Robot Friend”, “Nimona” and the acclaimed “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse”, favorite for the award. It is worth noting that this is the second Oscar in his career. Hayao Miyazakiresponsible for directing, producing and writing the animation script.

Miyazaki won his first Oscar 21 years ago, in 2003, with the feature film “Spirited Away”, in the same category in 2024, as ‘Best Animated Film’. “The Boy and the Crane” is showing in selected cinemas around Brazil.

In “The Boy and the Crane”, we know the story of Mahito, an 11-year-old boy who, after losing his mother, is forced to leave Tokyo and returns to the village where he grew up. Upon settling into his new home with his father, the young man meets a heron who, little by little, helps him understand the world around her. Remember the trailer!
