The dark scene from Mulan that was discarded from the animation

Released in 1998, “Mulan” is one of Disney’s classic animations. The production adapts the ancient Chinese tale from the 6th century entitled “The Ballad of Hua Mulan”, which tells the story of a girl who dresses as a man to take her father’s place in the army.

However, what many fans may not know is that, initially, this scene was supposed to be even worse and much darker.

As reported by the ScreenRant portal, right at the beginning of the film, the public would see in more detail the army of the villain Shan Yu invading the city and ending the lives of innocent civilians, spreading throughout the city.

Shan Yu, however, never existed. In real life, the most important name among the Huns was Attila, emperor responsible for leading grandiose plunders in Roman lands, and taking the empire to its moment of glory. The fall of the Hun Empire happened shortly after his death, in the year 453.
