V performed a cameo in IU’s “Love Wins All” music video a week before enlisting. Find out how this happened!
Last week, the soloist UIheld the pre-launch for their newest comeback with the track “Love Wins All”, which features a special appearance in the music video for V, member of BTS. In the MV, the artists play a couple trying to stay together in a post-apocalyptic world.
As reported by the Koreaboo portal, the recording of the clip was the last official commitment of Vbefore enlisting in the South Korean army alongside RM on December 11th, with filming taking place a week before the idol reports to the Armed Forces. But why V Did you decide to participate in the video?
The idol responded to this question during the behind-the-scenes video released by UI last Sunday, the 28th. According to him, there are two main reasons for accepting the invitation: the director and the music.
V explains that he appreciates the director’s work Um Tae Hwa since the film “Concrete Utopia”, and wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to carry out a project alongside him.
“Firstly, the director of the music video was director Um Tae Hwa, who filmed ‘Concrete Utopia’, so I thought it would be a precious memory to work on a play with him and decided to star in the MV.”
His second reason would have been the music itself, which he fell in love with and would regret if he decided not to participate in the production.
“When IU called me, I said I should listen to this song first. After listening to it, I knew I would really regret it if I didn’t do the MV because it was totally my style,” V revealed.
About that, UI reveals that the decision to climb V was made together with the director Um Tae Hwa. According to her, the two agreed that the male protagonist would need to “possess the humor of a young boy” and, at the same time, be “very cool and trustworthy”.
The soloist comments that she thought about inviting the BTS member after remembering that she needed to contact him for something that was not related to the project, and decided to take advantage of the opportunity to send the song.

It is worth remembering that, currently, V and all other members of BTS are performing mandatory military service in the South Korean army. The group should only meet in its full formation in 2025, when everyone is released from their obligations.
