The experts interviewed doubted that Korean or Turkish content could replace Western content.

Online cinemas in Russia have dramatically increased their purchases of movies and series from South Korea and Turkey. This is stated in the reports of the agency TelecomDaily, written by RBC.

Analysts say the most active buyer of Korean content is the Russian service Wink, which is owned by Rostelecom.

“According to preliminary results of the second quarter of 2022, the number of titles of such films and series on the platform has reached 180, which is 1.6 times more than the same period last year,” the statement said.

And the number of Turkish films and series on Russia’s online platforms has almost doubled. In addition, the amount of Indian content has grown with Wink.

It was noted that such changes took place against the backdrop of the loss of European and Hollywood films in Russia due to the war in Ukraine.

Recall that in some cinemas in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Ivanovo, Chita and other cities of Russia began to conduct pirate screenings of foreign films.

Russian cinemas will broadcast serials
