Discover which animations, like “Wish”, are confirmed to debut in theaters this year
The year 2023 brought incredible animations that will be difficult to forget, such as “Puss in Boots 2: The Last Order”, sequel to the spin-off of the “Shrek” franchise that arrived in national cinemas on January 5, 2023 and “Man- Aranha: Through the Aranhaverse”, the second plot starring Miles Morales, which premiered on June 1st.
Therefore, expectations for the animated titles that will be released during 2024 are high, even though few feature films have been confirmed for this year, since, due to the Hollywood screenwriters’ strike last year, several productions had their release dates postponed, as happened with “Elio”, a Disney animation that from March 1, 2024 will be released on June 13, 2025.
Still, there are some animations that are worth the price of admission, as well as a neat bucket of popcorn and lots of soft drinks to go with it. With this in mind, RECREIO has put together a list below of this year’s main animated releases. Check out!
1. Wish: The Power of Wishes
On January 4th, Brazilian cinemas will start showing “Wish: The Power of Wishes”, a Disney animation that, in addition to celebrating 100 years of existence of the studio created by the brothers Walt It is Roy Disney in 1923, will also introduce the newest princess of Mickey’s House: Asha.
The plot will follow the adventures that young Asha will face in the magical kingdom of Rosas after having a wish granted by a cosmic force called Star. She and Star will also have to face a great challenge, as the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico, will prove to be a great enemy.
2. Ducks!
Along with “Wish”, the film “Ducks!” goes on display on January 4th. From Universal Pictures, the production will feature a family of ducks formed by the father, Mack (Kumail Nanjiani), mother, Pam (Elizabeth Banks), and sons Dax (Caspar Jennings) and Gwen (Tresi Gazal).
The synopsis reads: “While Pam wants to show her children the world, Mack just wants to keep the family safe on the lake they live on in New England. However, when a new group of ducks appears on the scene with a series of stories about incredible trips, the family agrees to leave for New York, to visit tropical Jamaica. But the trip starts to get complicated.”
3. Kung Fu Panda 4
On March 7, fans of “Kung Fu Panda” will be able to watch the fourth film in the franchise. This time, DreamWorks Animation shows that Po will assume the position of Spiritual Leader and must train the new chosen Dragon Warrior: the smart fox Zen.
However, the mission will not be easy, as a new villain emerges: the chameleon. She is the most powerful shapeshifting sorceress and has the desire to obtain Po’s Staff of Wisdom to summon all the villainous masters again.
4. Inside Out 2
“Inside Out 2” opens on June 14. Pixar’s animation will continue the events seen in the first film in the franchise, only this time, following Riley’s emotions after the girl’s 13th birthday.
Furthermore, new emotions were confirmed for the new film: Shame, represented by the color pink; Boredom, characterized by purple and Envy, mirrored by the color cyan.
