The King and Queen shared some memories of this year 2023, which began with much fanfare with the King’s coronation last May.
How can we enter this new year without recalling some of the memories of the past? To welcome 2024 and say goodbye to 2023, Charles III and Queen Camilla have shared with their 13 million followers a retrospective video of their best moments from the past twelve months. In the opening, the images of the opening ceremony of the Parliament of his throne, on November 7, appear. We see the sovereign and his wife driving to Westminster Abbey in their golden carriage. A very important event for the son of Elizabeth II, who died on September 8, 2022, who chose to wear his influential imperial state crown on that day.
This is followed by photos of Prince William, Kate Middleton and other members of the royal family on Buckingham Palace, all smiling in front of their fans, as well as photos of visits and trips that have marked their year. “Thank you for all the warm receptions in the country and around the world in 2023,” they wrote in the caption of the post, among other memories made at diplomatic or social events. And so let’s finish. “We wish you all a happy new year 2024.”
Kate and William
On December 30, Kate Middleton and Prince William also decided to launch their 2023 retrospective on their Instagram account. The Prince and Princess of Wales appear there especially during the coronation of the King, the most anticipated event of the year, but also during other official outings. In particular, we see the mother of George, Charlotte and Louis all smiles at the St. Patrick’s Day parade, in attendance as a colonel in the Irish Guards, receiving her first honorary title since becoming a member of the royal family.
