The politician denied director Chris Columbus’ claim that he “made his way” into the film.
Former US President Donald Trump continues to argue about a cameo in Home Alone 2. Variety writes about it.
He denied director Chris Columbus’ claim that he “wrote his way” into the film. In addition, the former US President is convinced that his cameo “makes the movie successful.”
In 2020 in Columbus, Trump recalled how he and his team discussed filming at New York’s Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time. They assumed that they would only have to pay for the use of the location, but Trump set another condition: filming in his hotel was possible only if he himself appeared in the frame.
“When it was first shown, a strange thing happened: people applauded when Trump came on the screen,” Columbus said.
Trump has a different take on this:
“If they were offended or didn’t want to see me in the movie, why did they bring me in the movie and keep me there for more than 30 years? Because I became a great actor for this movie, so !”
Let’s remember that the comedy Home Alone by Chris Columbus and John Hughes was released in 1990. It became the highest-grossing Christmas movie in US history and was also nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
