Remember some of the most memorable Christmas covers performed by the cast of the musical series ‘Glee’

In the world of series, it is common for productions to carry out special Christmas episodes when the season approaches in real life — and with Glee it was no different.

In fact, the Christmas specials of the series created by the director Ryan Murphy in 2009, they became one of the series’ greatest classics, producing several albums just with the versions performed by the characters on the FOX program.

To celebrate the arrival of this incredible season, Recreio has put together a list of five unforgettable Christmas covers performed by the cast of Glee. Check out!

1. “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” — Coach Sue Sylvester

During the second season, Coach Sylvester (Jane Lynch) decides that he is going to destroy McKinley High school’s Christmas, just like the Grinch does in Quemlândia, and decides to steal all the presents from the Glee club’s tree, in addition to destroying all the decorations, while wearing a character costume and singing “You ‘re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”

2. “Let It Snow” — Kurt and Blaine

In the third season, New Directions decides to create their own Christmas special, taking inspiration from the Star Wars specials and the actress Judy Garland. Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blane (Darren Criss) end up being the hosts of the entire production, starting the episode with the sound of “Let It Snow”.

3. “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” — Marley and New Directions

At the end of the tenth episode of the fourth season of Glee, we can see Marley (Melissa Benoist) asking for help from his Glee club friends to give Coach Sylvester a beautiful Christmas song. In the scene, in addition to seeing the performance in the auditorium, we can also see former members of New Directions spending their Christmas in different places.

4. “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” — New Directions

In “An Extraordinary Christmas”, a Christmas episode from the third season, the members of New Directions surprise Sue, Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Quinn (Dianna Agron), when they managed to show up to volunteer at a center for less privileged people to provide them with a decent Christmas dinner. In addition to appearing with gifts, the group also made a point of performing the song “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”.

5. “All I Want For Christmas Is You” — Mercedes

Being one of the biggest Christmas classics, the song “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, by Mariah Carey, I couldn’t stay out of Glee. She appears in the opening of the episode “An Extraordinary Christmas”, in the third season, being played by Mercedes (Amber Riley), and featuring breathtaking vocals.
