The members have already signed the renewal of BLACKPINK’s contracts for group activities with YG Entertainment this Wednesday, 06
After the renewal of exclusive contracts between BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment to carry out group activities, a new question hits the group’s fans: after all, what will happen to the contracts for the promotion of individual activities? Rosé, Lisa, Jisoo It is Jennie? The agency commented on the case in a brief statement published on the Yonhap portal (via Koreaboo).
At the time, YG wrote: “We are still in discussion [em relação aos contratos individuais]”. Therefore, BLINKs (as BLACKPINK fans are called) will have to wait until new contracts are established, or even for the members to migrate to other agencies to promote their solo releases.
It is worth mentioning that the negotiation to establish the new exclusivity contract between YG and BLACKPINK so that new activities with the complete formation could be programmed by the company took place within a period of around four months, given that the link established between the agency and the group had ended in August of that year.
BLACKPINK was created in 2016 by YG Entertainment and in just over half a decade of career, the group has accumulated several hits, such as “Kill This Love”, “How You Like That” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU”. The lineup’s most recent comeback took place in September 2022, with the track “SHUT DOWN”, the title track from the group’s second full-album, “BORN PINK”.
