Alfonso Herreraalso known as Ponchobecame a global icon when he gave life to the character Miguel in the soap opera “Rebelde” in 2004, a Mexican production that was also responsible for the creation of the band RBD, responsible for boosting the actor’s career alongside that of his colleagues on stage and screen: Anahi, Maite Perroni, Dulce Maria, Christoper von Uckermann It is Christian Chavez.
After the soap opera, Herrera took new steps in his career by starring in films and series with different themes and genres. Furthermore, the artist developed new works in dubbing, as well as taking part in different projects, due to his history as a humanitarian activist.

1. Sense 8
In “Sense 8”, the actor brings the character to life Hernando. The Netflix original series was created by Lilly Wachowski, Lana Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski, with two seasons already available in the streaming platform’s catalog.
Synopsis: From the creators of “The Matrix” and “Babylon 5”, this series follows eight strangers who come to share feelings and abilities while trying to avoid their extermination.
2. The Exorcist
Launched in 2016, “The Exorcist” is a horror series inspired by the 1971 book of the same name written by William Peter Blatty. In production, Herrera give life to Father Tomas Ortega.
The synopsis for the second season says: “Fathers Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) go on a journey in search of evil. The duo is called by Andrew Kim (John Cho), a child psychologist in charge of a home of five at-risk children, when one of them is targeted by a powerful force, sending the priests straight to hell.”
3. El baile de los 41
Ignacio de la Torre is the character of Herrera in “El baile de los 41”, a film released in 2020 and set in the 19th century. The plot is led by the filmmaker David Pablos.
Synopsis: Ignacio married the daughter of the president of Mexico, but he hides a secret that causes scandal in society: he frequents an environment where men wear women’s clothes.
4. Long live Mexico!
With script Jaime Sampietro and direction of Luis Estrada, “Long live mexico!” premiered in March 2023, featuring names such as Mayra Hermosillo who gave life to Gloria, Ana de la Reguera who played Elena, Damian Alcázar which was Rosendo, Adriana Louvier like Normita and Herrera like Pancho.
Available on Netflix, the film has the following synopsis: Pancho returns to his hometown with his wife and children to receive the inheritance left by his grandfather. But your relatives won’t let you go.
5. Rebel Moon
Finally, Herrera is also part of the cast of “Rebel Moon – Part 1: A Menina do Fogo”, a feature film by Zack Snyderwhich will be released directly into the Netflix catalog on December 22nd this year.
