King Charles III was very emotional when he unveiled the statues of his parents. (England, November 11, 2023) ABACA:
This Saturday, November 11, the King of England unveiled two new statues in honor of his parents, which were placed in the entrance niches of the legendary concert hall. Something to bring back good memories.
The memory of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8, 2022 in Balmoral (Scotland), remains in everyone’s memory. After 70 years of reign, the monarch knew every nook and cranny of his country, all the major institutions, such as the Royal Albert Hall, which is located near Kensington Palace. Opened in 1871, this hall notably hosts the Festival of Remembrance every year, which the Royal Family and Queen never miss. The concert is actually organized by the British Army Foundation, the Royal British Legion, in honor of soldiers who have died for their country.
This year the event took place on Saturday 11th November and Charles III and Camilla could be counted on to attend, flanked by Prince William and Kate Middleton. It was a special day because before the concert, the royal couple unveiled new statues of their parents, Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, installed in the building. Charles III himself drew the great red curtain to reveal the bronze work, which is set in niches on the front of the building. We then see him watching them with great emotion, his hands in his pockets and tears in his eyes.
