During their official visit to Moray, the Prince and Princess of Wales were photographed in coordinated… and very Scottish outfits.
After a short hiatus due to the children’s school holidays, Prince William and Kate Middleton are slowly returning to official outings. To mark the occasion, the royal couple traveled to Scotland this Thursday, November 2, to meet organizations supporting the rural communities of Moray. What stood out that day was not so much their return to the field, but their clothes. Indeed, the duo was seduced by the coordinated choice of clothing. The Prince and Princess of Wales wore a green jacket emblazoned with a red ball in the shape of a poppy, a British symbol to pay tribute to soldiers who died in battle. A piece that they combined with dark trousers and a pair of boots in the same brown tones.

Very Scottish looking
In this practical and comfortable outfit, George’s parents, Charlotte and Louis de Gaulle, looked like two perfect Scots… in Scotland. We especially owe it to Kate Middleton’s jacket. In a cotton and wool blend, this quilted piece features a tartan pattern. A print as iconic to the British as the Scots, the wife of the United Kingdom’s heir often wears it on official outings. Worn by George V on his visit to Edinburgh in 1822, the tartan then became the national coat of arms symbolizing the royal family.
It’s enough to make it a favorite print of Kate Middleton, who adopted a green, blue and red plaid dress during a trip to the US in December 2022. At the opening of the Victoria and Albert Museum in Dundee, Scotland in January 2019, she also turned heads in an Alexander McQueen tartan coat. A British brand that the princess especially likes.
