Director Tim Burton talks about his disagreement with Warner Bros. at the end of the 30th anniversary of “Batman Returns”.
In the last interview with the Journal of the Empire, the fascinating and gothic scene shattered the entertainment company that replaced him in the third film after saying that “Batman Return” was “too dark”.
Despite the film’s popularity in 1992, Warner Bros. decided. to stop making Barton films about the Crusaders and Joel Schumacher replaced him with “Batman Forever” and “Batman and Robin”.
“They went the other side,” Barton said. “It’s fun. But I said, ‘Wait. ᲙWell. Wait here. You complain to me, my weird, I’m too dark, then you even put your nipples on the costume? Get lost. seriously. So yeah, I think that’s why I haven’t finished making the third film yet.
With the release of the franchise’s latest installment, this year an agitated presentation of Matthew Reeves ’Gotham patron saint,“ Batman, ”shows how crazy a character is.
Burton pointed out the paradox of the latest film and told Empire: “It’s funny to watch it now, because all these memories come back to me being ‘very dark’, so it makes me laugh a little bit.”
While “Batman Returns” has its share of sizzling moments (exploding penguins and large amounts of latex), Burton said he only appreciates the film beyond the darkness for which it is famous.
“I’m just not too dark. It represents me in the sense that … this is how I see things. It is not meant as pure darkness. It’s a mixture, ”he said.
“I feel very in love with him because of this strange experiment he looked like.”
