Cattel Quillever’s new film, which premiered at Cannes this year, depicts a complicated love story set in post-war France between two protagonists, each carrying a heavy secret.

She is a single mother and a waitress in a hotel-restaurant, she is a learned student. Their physical attraction turns into a great passion, which, however, mixes lies and pretense, each trying to hide an untold story. Madeleine wants to put the past behind her, as Francois gradually reveals himself as a man who is looking for an escape in this relationship.
