The animated series ‘Tiana’, which is derived from ‘The Princess and the Frog’, had changes in direction and script
The series “Tiana”, which is derived from the feature film “The Princess and the Frog” had new updates this Monday, the 9th. According to Variety (via Omelete), there was a change in the direction and script of the production: Joyce Sherri (Midnight Mass) will take charge of the project.
Until then, Stella Meghie (Insecure) was responsible for both functions in the animation. Even so, Meghie has not completely left the production team, as, from now on, she continues to be involved in the role of executive producer, alongside Jennifer Lee (Frozen a freezing adventure).
The series will be a musical comedy and will show Tiana taking on her role as princess of Maldonia and also new adventures in New Orleans. In principle, the animation would be released later this year, but due to the strike by writers and actors – which continues to happen – the production should only be launched in 2024.
New look?
The news about the series’ new director and screenwriter comes shortly after an advertising campaign starring the Disney character. In the commercial for a children’s shampoo, the princess appears with her hair down, showing all her curls.
The internet went crazy, and many suspect that this is an indication that the character will have a new look in the series, since until then many people suspected that production had been cancelled, as there was no new information about it, until today.
