The composition was made into the mini-series Woman in the Wall. It contains six stages. The movie was released in 2023.
The public heard the last song of the famous Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, who died recently. A musical composition called The Magdalene Song was the soundtrack to the last episode of the mini-series The Woman in the Wall produced by the BBC. The video was published on YouTube.
The series follows a woman dealing with the lasting trauma caused by Ireland’s controversial Magdalene Laundry, a church-run home for unmarried pregnant women.
O’Connor agreed to allow her song to be used on the soundtrack after learning that it was about the church’s cruelty to unmarried pregnant women. This is typical of the Irish Church.
In particular, Sinead O’Connor herself went through a similar experience. At the age of 15, his parents put him in one of these institutions when they caught him stealing.
We remind you that Sinead O’Connor has three children. Her son died last year at the age of 17.
