Travis King ended up in North Korea in July of this year. Local media said he had expressed a desire to emigrate.
American soldier Travis King, who crossed the demarcation line in North Korea in July of this year, is in China. He was handed over to American authorities there. This was reported by the Associated Press news agency citing US officials on Wednesday, September 26.
North Korean authorities yesterday ordered King to be expelled from the country. Then there is no talk of when exactly the country plans to oust the military.
King, on a sightseeing tour on July 18, crossed from South Korea into the DPRK without permission near the demilitarized zone at Panmunjom.
KCNA had previously said that King had expressed a desire to go abroad.
“American soldier Travis King said he was disillusioned with the unjust American society and expressed his desire to emigrate to our country or to a third country,” urged the propaganda media.
King admitted during the investigation that he crossed the demarcation line illegally.
As we have already written, the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, and the Minister of Defense of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, discussed the strengthening of military cooperation and exchanges between the DPRK.
In addition, the United States said that North Korea could increase the supply of artillery ammunition to Russia, however, this is unlikely to have much significance.
