One of the most famous animated series of the 2000s was “Pucca”. The production, which was originally from the Jetix channel, showed the daily life of a 10-year-old girl called Pucca, who lived with her father and three uncles, who worked in a noodle restaurant, in which the protagonist was a delivery driver.
However, the highlight of the cartoon was Pucca’s passion for Garu, a 12-year-old ninja boy who fights kung-fu. She was always after the boy trying to steal a kiss, however, it seemed that her feelings were not reciprocated, since he always ran away from her. Remember the opening of the series!
But one thing has always intrigued fans: why are Pucca and Garu the only silent characters in the animation? RECREIO brought the answer!
Explanation
With the exception of the protagonists, the other characters in the production speak normally, and this is for a reason. According to Super Interessante, Garu took a vow of silence to fulfill the last request of his now deceased father. He promised to rescue his family’s honor, and his mission is to become the best ninja in the village. Thus, he took a vow of silence until he fulfills his objective. These vows are very common in the customs of eastern ninjas.
But what about Pucca? Well, because she loved Garu so much, she also committed to remaining silent to support her beloved — and she would only speak again when he also returned.
After all, why did Jetix end?
Jetix emerged in 2004 with the aim of replacing a channel called Fox Kids. However, when Fox was purchased by Disney, there was a reformulation, which meant that the activities of the beloved channel came to an end in 2009, giving way to Disney XD. If you want to know more details, click here.
