The agency responsible for TWICE’s Nayeon’s career shared a statement about the lawsuit faced by the idol and her mother’s ex-boyfriend
Nayeon, from TWICE, won the lawsuit initiated in January by her mother’s ex-boyfriend, who requested payment of a loan granted to the idol worth approximately 535.9 million Won (around RS 19,654.245). As a result, this Tuesday, the 19th, JYP Entertainment, the agency that handles the idol’s career, commented on the matter.
There’s nothing more to say [sobre o caso] because the decision has already been finalized and closed and has nothing to do with the artist’s activities as an artist”, revealed a source from the agency to the Newsen portal (via Soompi).
Of the value that the ex-boyfriend of the mother ofNayeon claims to have borrowed money to cover expenses during the period when the idol was a trainee, the court recognizes that for approximately 12 years, the man transferred at least 500 million won to the singer and her mother, where the money was used to pay monthly rent, loans, monthly fees and telecommunications expenses, as reported by Soompi.
However, even though the court recognized that the money was transferred, the case was closed, granting victory to Nayeonas there was not enough evidence to support the argument that the amount was granted by the idol’s mother’s ex-boyfriend as a loan with a legal obligation to repay.
The decision caused controversy among netizens, which led JYP Entertainment to reveal that legal action is taken against those who defame Nayeon. “We will take firm legal action against the issue of defaming the artist’s reputation or insulting [o artista] through speculative writings from now on”, they concluded.
