ITZY’s Lia will take a temporary hiatus due to health issues

After the end of the promotion period for the “CAKE” era, Leaha member of ITZY, announced through a handwritten letter shared on Instagram that, due to health problems, he will be suspending his activities with the group indefinitely.

JYP Entertainment, the company responsible for the girl group, also issued a statement through ITZY’s official fan community, where it gave more details about the case. Check out:

We would like to inform you about the health status of ITZY member Lia and her future activities.

Lia underwent a consultation and examination because she was feeling extreme tension and anxiety to carry out her scheduled activities and received medical advice that she needed rest and treatment.

With the artist’s health as our top priority, after careful discussion with the members, we decided that Lia will not participate in the scheduled activities from today onwards and will take a break for now to focus on her treatment.

The timing of Lia’s resumption of activities will be decided after sufficient discussion between Lia and the members.

We sincerely apologize for causing concern to fans.

We will announce the resumption of Lia’s activities as soon as it is decided.

In his letter published on Instagram, Leah said that although she is worried about the reaction of MIDZYs (ITZY fans), she knows that despite everything, they would support her and will wait for her return. See the full translation:

I think MIDZY must have been surprised when he heard the news today. Since MIDZY cares about me more than anyone else, even when I’m a little sick, I was worried that you would be heartbroken and sad when you heard the news. It’s been six years since I started this journey together with the members I met through our shared dream! I managed to get through this moment and get here thanks to the members and MIDZY.
