Batman Day has finally arrived! The annual event created by DC Comics to celebrate the existence of the character and promote comics, films, games and animations starring the Gotham City vigilante, is celebrated this Saturday, the 16th.
What is the origin of Batman’s day?
The date, which has been celebrated for almost a decade, appeared on July 23, 2014, to celebrate the Caped Crusader’s 75th birthday. That year, the celebration was held at the biggest geek culture event in the world: San Diego Comic Con, in California, where there were a series of releases related to the character.
As a result, the A.D turned the celebration into a tradition, which is celebrated every year, gaining a different date in each of them, since last year, for example, the event took place on September 17th, making it necessary for fans to always be on alert for Don’t let Batman Day go unnoticed.
How to celebrate Batman Day?
To be part of the party, Batman fans can participate in themed events, carry out interactive activities, sign up for cosplay contests, follow special programming on TV channels, or even marathon all the cinematographic productions and literary works that are named after the superhero.
Furthermore, it is possible to see São Paulo taking on a face of Gotham City. This happens because the Bat-Signal will not only be at its traditional point, Farol Santander, but also at Casa Warner based in Shopping Eldorado.
Those who like to walk around can visit Batman’s alley, which will feature several attractions and activities related to the Bat, as well as a new exclusive mural for the hero designed by the artist Loud, which will feature the Dark Knight accompanied by the Blue Beetle .
There will also be the traditional night race entitled “Batman & Batgirl Run Series” organized by Yescom, hosted this year in the “arena” at the Anhembi sambadrome, in the north of São Paulo, — how could it be more special?
