Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene visited the set of the new TVMonaco channel on Friday, September 1 to mark its launch. If the prince looked very comfortable on the screen, his posture contrasted with the woman’s posture, almost separately.
On Friday 1 September at 19:15, Monegasques discovered a new state-owned channel called TVMonaco on their television screens. As such, Prince Albert made a trip backstage to give a speech and officially kick off the festivities. A historic and important moment, especially since Princess Charlene was by his side. But if the sovereign seemed quite comfortable at the microphone of the host, his escort, he assumed a posture that showed some embarrassment; almost back. Crossing her arms in front of her, wearing a black shirt so that the light wouldn’t catch too much, she just uttered a short sentence, contrasting her husband’s long speech.
“It’s a great pride, a great joy, but it’s a great emotion to be there with Princess Charlene to start this great adventure of this channel, which I think the power will shine in the world, also thanks to TV5. Monde network,” so began Prince Albert alongside his wife, who remained subdued. The latter just said a few words while speaking, therefore also in English. “Congratulations, I wish you all the best in the future,” he said with a smile. The couple then walked up to the show’s panel to press the launch button, much like cutting the red ribbon at an inauguration.
The new Monegasque channel will base its editorial line on four main themes: the environment, national and international news, as well as sports and the art of living.
