“On Saturday, tourists in the mountains found human remains. The analysis confirmed that they belonged to the actor,” the journalists said.
Sands, who was an avid hiker and mountaineer, went missing on January 13th. He hiked to Bald’s peak in California’s San Gabriel Mountains. His car was found at the foot of the mountain.
Sands starred in A Room with a View, The Killing Fields, and Leaving Las Vegas, all of which won Oscars. His filmography also includes “Warlock”, “Ocean’s Thirteen”, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”.
