During a podcast, the actress revealed how the vampire saga almost affected her work on ‘The Hunger Games’
During her recent appearance on The Rewatchables podcast, the Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence revealed that, before starring in the “Hunger Games” saga, he held auditions to play Bella Swan, from “Twilight”, in addition to having almost rejected the role of Kat niss ever deen in the production inspired by the books of Suzanne Collins.
“I auditioned for Twilight,” Lawrence declared. They rejected me right away. I didn’t even get a return. But my life would have been totally different. I had The Hunger Games, like, a year later.”
jennifer he also says that, even without having joined “Twilight”, the franchise still had a great influence on his career. That’s because, after seeing the resounding success of the story about vampires and werewolves, he was afraid of having his image attached to a single character and, therefore, considered refusing the Hunger Games.
“I almost didn’t do The Hunger Games because after Twilight came out, I saw how fanatical those fans were. I assumed that [Jogos Vorazes] would have the same fame as Twilight and that wasn’t something I had in mind. I never wanted to be the most famous person on the planet. This is a very different life than what I imagined for myself.”
With the first film released in 2012, the Hunger Games franchise has grossed over $2.3 billion at the box office, being highly acclaimed by audiences worldwide to this day. Thanks to all this success, the saga will gain a spin-off at the end of this year, called “A Cantiga dos Pássaros e Serpentes”, which will also be inspired by the book of the same name written by the creator of the saga, Suzanne Collins.
As stated in the official synopsis, the film will take place 64 years before the events of the Hunger Games, and will follow the story of a young President Snow, who is going through a difficult time when “he sees a chance to change his destiny when he is chosen to be a mentor of the Hunger Games, though he is disappointed to be assigned to a poor girl tribute from the wretched District 12″.
