Justin Timberlake doesn’t seem to be hanging on to his “Until the End of Time” music catalog.
Timberlake recently sold his entire 20-year career music catalog to London-based company Hipgnosis Song Management, the company said Thursday.
The purchase includes all copyrights to tracks written or written by Timberlake. The deal also includes all music released by the “Suit & Tie” singer along with movies, TV, streaming, covers or performances.
The deal, which includes rights to up to 200 songs, is worth $ 100 million. The Wall Street newspaper Reported.
The acquisition was made on behalf of Hipgnosis Songs Capital, a partnership between funds managed by Hipgnosis Song Management and a private equity firm, Blackstone.
The management company now holds the best hits from the Billboard pop star, such as “Cry Me a River”, “SexyBack” and “Mirrors”.
“I am happy to collaborate [Hipgnosis founder and CEO Merck Mercuriadis]”He values artists and their creative work and has always been a strong supporter of songwriters and short stories. I can’t wait to get into this chapter later,” Timberlake said in a statement.
Timberlake now joins the ranks of other singers such as Bob Dylan, Shakira and Neil Young, who have just bought their music rights.
