Donald Trump “Surprised” Georgian Secretary of State Brad Rafensperger won a landslide victory in the GOP primary last week, despite the former president’s efforts to oust him, sources in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said.
Rafensperger rebelled against Trump after the 2020 presidential election and explicitly rejected Trump’s order to get more votes for him in order to magically turn his defeat into a victory.
Rafensperger also denied Trump’s claim that Georgia’s vote was rigged, and said several investigations found nothing wrong with the vote.
Trump supported U.S. Congressman Jody Hayes, who received 33% of the vote, while Raffensperger received 52% (excluding the need for a ballot).
Rafensperger’s Victory may have been partly related to cross-Democratic votes. His win was the most shocking to Trump, according to the magazine’s constitution.
Trump now faces worse news than Raffensperger.
