Learn more about Disney animations that surpass generations and conquer the hearts of the whole world
Disney animations are loved by thousands of people, regardless of time, place or age. Uniting families and friends from all corners of the planet, even though they are so recognized, there are still many curiosities about these classic films that almost nobody has heard of. So, now find out 10 facts that you probably didn’t know about Mickey’s House animations.
1. Toy Story 2 was almost deleted
While it was still in production, Toy Story 2 narrowly missed being deleted, thanks to a code that deleted everything from Disney’s system automatically. However, the day was saved thanks to one of the animators, who kept a backup in her house to work on on days when she needed to be with her children.
2. Nameless Prince
Everyone knows Cinderella’s prince as Prince Charming. However, he was never given a real name. This nickname began to circulate among the public precisely because no one knew what to call the boy, but not even in the movie is he called that.
3. A mix of animals
Have you ever stopped to think about which animal the Beast is inspired by? You would hardly be able to get the answer right, as it is actually a huge mixture of six animals. His head is modeled on a buffalo, his mane on a lion, his tusks on a boar, his forehead on a gorilla, his body on a bear, his legs and tail on a wolf, and to give him an air that Belle could fall in love, your eyes are based on a human.
4. No eye contact
In the images that contain all the Disney princesses together, none of them is placed making eye contact with the other. The act is done on purpose, exactly to maintain an idea that they, in reality, are unaware of the existence of the person on their side, and that it is possible to maintain knowledge of their own individual histories without any alteration.
5. Realistic Inspiration
Moana is a film full of references to the islands on which it was inspired, in Polynesia. However, something that almost nobody knows is that all the characters’ clothes were designed based on the materials that can actually be found there, to become as real as possible.
6. Silent Princess
Among all the Disney princesses, Aurora is the one who speaks the least in her movie. Despite being the main character, the girl only has 18 lines of dialogue in the entire animation.
7. Garbage growls
Contrary to what many might think, The Lion King’s growls are not based on those of a real animal. They were made by a man named Frank, who recorded the audio inside a studio with the help of a metal trash can.
8. Without a finger
Some people believe that Mickey Mouse may only have four fingers due to a possible animation error, or a crazy idea of walt disney, but the reality is not quite like that. The real fact behind this questioning is that, at the time, it ended up being cheaper to animate the character with one less finger and, even after its success, it remained that way because it became a characteristic of the character.
9. Boo’s real name
The adorable character from Monsters Inc isn’t actually named Boo. Her name in the human world would be Mary, and it is possible to reach this conclusion thanks to a signature present in one of her drawings inside her room.
10. Note on Kristoff’s boogers
During the closing credits of the first Frozen film, there is a note in which Disney says it is not responsible for the public’s opinion of every man eating his own booger, based on Kristoff’s scene. In it, they emphasize that the Walt Disney Company and the producers do not share the same thinking, and that this is an idea that does not represent the studio.
